Another incredibly busy term for Room 12.
Our fundraising for Sonshine Ranch has gone really well with all of the classes raising enough money to go for one day without families having to pay anything - way to go Whanau Purapura!! We sent a newsletter home at the end of the term to ask families if they would like to still go for the two days and pay for the second day. Unfortuneately we didn't get many families send back the letter so we will have to go with the majority of replies back which was to go for the one day at no cost.
We will be doing our last fundraising raffle in the first two weeks of Term 4. Davis Trading Company Ltd have kindly donated a gourmet food hamper that we will be raffling at $1 a ticket. The hamper looks amazing and well worth a ticket - or two!!
Term 4 is a very short term at only 8 weeks so its going to fly! We will of course be going to Sonshine Ranch in Week 5, Cultural Festival in Week 7 and end of year Prizegiving in Week 8.
Cultural Festival practices begin in Week 1 and will be on Friday afternoon between 1:20 - 2:20. If you are able to help with teaching the groups or know of any one who could help. please let Mrs Peteru know.
Swimming was a great success last term - the children loved it and the progress they made was fantastic. Thank you to all those families who have paid their money - $15 for 6 lessons is a very good deal. You can still pay this Term either in class or with Marie at the office. Don't forget to check out the photos in the media Gallery.

Davis Trading food hamper.

On Friday 28 of October Tone, Promyce and Orealle went with Mrs Margison to pick up a Christmas Hamper that was full of goodies from Davis Food Trading. When we got there, a very kind lady showed us where the hamper was. It was covered over with cardboard so no one would want to take it. When the Manager came down stairs, we all said hello and shook hands. After we shook hands, the manager said how neat the handwriting was and she loved it. The manager had a little talk with Mrs Margison, then we all helped to lift up the hamper in the trolley. It nearly weighed 10 kilograms, because all of the goodies in it. As we were pushing the trolley, and starting to lift the hamper in the car, the director of the company just arrived and came over to help, and we all shook his hand and told him what our names were. He was a really kind man.

On Monday the 31st of October Sala, Tremaine and Gloria sent a letter to the Fresh Direct Company.
This lovely lady named Ana came to Panama Rd School and handed out a letter for us to read.
In it she said that they would donate some money because Sonshine Ranch was a healthy place to go.
We would like to thank the Fresh Direct Company for giving Panama Rd School $300 for Whanau Purapura's trip to Sonshne Ranch.
