Our name Kakano means seed, and as the youngest Whanau at Panama Road School we are the precious seedlings beginning our journey here at school. We are three classrooms made up of Year Zeron and Year One children.
This term at school we are learning all about
Matariki. This is the Maori New Year, and is signalled by a constellation of seven stars in the sky. We are having a trip to the Auckland Museum in Week 6 to learn more about Matariki.
We are also continuing lots of work in reading, writing and maths.
